Marking its 15th anniversary the Downtown Cruisin’ will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 in downtown Jamestown. Filling the whole downtown, the streets will be lined with custom made, antique, and old fashioned trucks, cars, motorcycles and race cars.
“We are very excited to be celebrating 15 years with the Downtown Cruisin’. This is by far one of our most successful events we produced annually,” commented Tiffani Reynolds, DJDC Special Projects Manager. “The community absolutely loves this event and they keep coming back year after year, rain or shine, to celebrate the history of the automobile.”
Registration is now open for anyone interested in participating in this year’s cruisin’. DJDC respectfully requests a $5.00 donation to enter into the Downtown Cruisin’. “All of our downtown events are free to the public and this is just a small way to help cover our expenses to host these wonderful events downtown,” added Reynolds. Pre-registration is highly recommended.
Line up will begin at 5:30pm at the JCC parking lot on James Street in Jamestown. There will be no cars permitted to park in the downtown core until the cars have been released from the parking lot. Any cars not interested in participating in the actual cruise from JCC to downtown are still required to line up at JCC. These individuals will be released at an earlier time, prior to the 6:30pm start time. No exceptions. Vehicles will be on display from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.
Along with the cruise beginning at 6:30pm, The Untouchables will be performing oldies on the stage located at the corners of Main and Third Streets from 7:00pm-11:00pm. There will be dancing in the streets, contests, prizes and numerous activities for the entire family to enjoy.
